As Director of the University of Alberta Career Centre and Experiential Learning Blessie Mathew’s portfolio includes the Career Centre, Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI), Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science, and Technology (WISEST), Student Groups, and Orientation and Transition Programs. Each unit connects broadly in its goals to support students, postdoctoral scholars, and alumni in engaging in career development and experiential learning activities that help them build the skills, knowledge, experience, and connections they need to progress in their academic lives and careers resourcefully, and with hope and resilience. 

Our Mission: Enabling a culture of diversity and inclusivity through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Programs. AWSN acts as the platform that initiates or supports programs, partners and stakeholders who amplify, magnify, or accelerate systemic and social change within the greater community, allowing all to participate to their full capacity in STEM
