Katarina Seckarova,Board Member

Katarina has a diverse professional background spanning the technical, business, and non-profit
sectors. She received a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from the University of Calgary with
Honours and then began a career in the Oil & Gas sector. After earning her Master’s in Business
Administration specializing in Finance from the Haskayne School of Business, she transitioned
to the non-profit sector, where her passion lies in advancing women to executive positions and
corporate boards.
Katarina's expertise extends to regulatory and corporate services, providing guidance to start-
ups on navigating regulatory landscapes, optimizing business operations, and strategizing for
growth. She initially worked with Board Ready Women on a project to identify barriers
hindering women's advancement to boards and propose actionable initiatives and programs to
support their Board journey. This collaboration led to her joining the Board Ready Women team
in 2020. 
  
Katarina's commitment to supporting and empowering women extends beyond her
professional endeavours. In 2022, she joined Board of Directors of the Alberta Women's
Science Network, an organization focused on improving recruitment, retention and recognition
of women in the STEM fields. Katarina also serves as a member of the Awards and Nominations
Committees.
