WinSTEM Recognition 2016

2016

Melanie Popp is the Managing Director of the Alberta Innovation Engine.  Her idea came to fruition after she realized that several individuals were wanting to make a choice out of oil and gas, yet weren't educated on how to navigate this transition. Melanie is passionate about Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers and feels that the working world could benefit from more flexible working arrangements.  She has brought this vision forward in Alberta Innovation Engine as she educates and inspires the great minds of Alberta to create an economic revolution for our province. Melanie has a Bachelors in Geological Engineering (University of Saskatchewan), a Masters in Petroleum Engineering (University of Calgary) and is a proud graduate of PSI Seminars' where she honed her coaching and personal self-improvement skills.

Our Mission: Enabling a culture of diversity and inclusivity through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Programs. AWSN acts as the platform that initiates or supports programs, partners and stakeholders who amplify, magnify, or accelerate systemic and social change within the greater community, allowing all to participate to their full capacity in STEM
