WinSTEM Week - Oct 6th-12th, 2024

WinSTEM Week: Celebrating and Empowering Women in STEM in Alberta

WinSTEM Week is an annual celebration organized by the Alberta Women’s Science Network (AWSN) to promote and increase the visibility of women and underrepresented groups in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across Alberta. Held around Ada Lovelace Day in October, WinSTEM Week showcases the contributions of women in STEM, builds community connections, and encourages the next generation through networking, educational events, and outreach activities. By fostering engagement and collaboration, AWSN aims to create an inclusive environment that empowers women to thrive and lead in STEM fields.

WinSTEM Week continues to be officially recognized by the Government of Alberta! On October 8, the Peace Bridge and Calgary Tower will light up in purple. We encourage everyone to take photos and share them on social media to show your support and spread the word about this important initiative!

This year, AWSN is proud to continue its mission of highlighting and celebrating women in STEM through a series of exciting events across Alberta. Our goal is to amplify the voices of women in the STEM community while fostering curiosity, innovation, and inclusivity among future generations.
